Capture web pages, slides and videos from your browser
The SuperCapture browser extension captures what a normal screenshot can’t: a whole scrolling page, every slide in a web deck, the original image file, or a video page. Everything goes straight into your library. The Mac app must be running. See Install the extension for setup.
The extension popup
Section titled “The extension popup”Click the SuperCapture icon in the browser toolbar. The popup header shows Connected with a green dot when the extension can reach the app, plus the App and Ext version numbers. The capture buttons stay disabled while it shows Disconnected.
| Button | What it captures |
|---|---|
| Select Area | Drag a rectangle on the page; only that area is saved. |
| Full Page (Auto-Scroll) | Scrolls the page top to bottom and stitches it into one tall image. |
| Visible Area Only | What’s currently visible in the tab. |
| Capture Slides | Steps through a slide deck and saves every slide as one multi-page document. |
| Save Video | Shown on recognized video pages such as YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok and Instagram reels. |
| Bookmark Page | Saves the page as a bookmark in your library. |
The right-click SuperCapture menu offers Save Image, Save Audio, Bookmark, Full Page (Scrolling), Visible Area Only, Select Area, Save Video and Capture Slides, depending on what you right-click.
Full-page capture
Section titled “Full-page capture”- Let the page finish loading and close anything covering the content.
- Choose Full Page (Auto-Scroll).
- SuperCapture scrolls through the page. It hides fixed and sticky elements (such as headers) on the middle sections, so they don't repeat down the image. It keeps them in the top section.
- The stitched image appears in your gallery, and the page scrolls back to where it was.
Full-page captures are limited to 30 screens. On a longer page you get the first 30 and a message saying the page exceeded the limit. For one panel of a complex page, use Select Area instead.
To name each scrolling capture before it starts, turn on Settings → Browser Extension → Ask for Scrolling Capture name before start.
Slide decks
Section titled “Slide decks”Capture Slides advances through a deck one slide at a time and assembles the result into a single multi-page document.
On these sites the deck is detected automatically, and the button shows the site name, for example Capture Slides (Google Slides):
- DocSend
- Google Slides
- Canva
- Gamma
- Speaker Deck
- Issuu
- Figma Slides
- Adobe Publish Online
On any other page the popup offers a generic Capture Slides. It presses the right arrow key to advance, and stops when the page no longer changes. A capture stops after 100 pages.
Turn on Ask for slideshow name before capture in Settings → Browser Extension to name decks as you capture them.
Save images, audio and video
Section titled “Save images, audio and video”- Right-click an image and choose SuperCapture → Save Image to save the original image rather than a screenshot of it.
- Hold ⌥ Option and right-click an image, video or background image to save it straight away, without the menu.
- Drag an image off the page. A drop panel appears near the pointer. Drop on it to save, or drop onto a collection to file the image in one move. For CSS background images, hold ⌥ as you start the drag.
- Save Video downloads a plain video file, or on streaming sites saves a playable web video with its official cover and title. Web videos play in Quick Look, not an editor.
If in-page dragging or ⌥ right-click gets in the way, switch off Enable on pages in the popup; the capture buttons keep working.
Bookmarks
Section titled “Bookmarks”Bookmark Page saves the page as a bookmark item in your library, searchable like your captures. See Search your library.
From the Mac app
Section titled “From the Mac app”With the extension connected, a Scrolling Capture button can also appear over a scrollable browser window in the Mac app’s capture overlay. See Screenshots.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Buttons are disabled. Make sure SuperCapture is running, then reopen the popup. See extension troubleshooting.
- An endless feed. Pages that keep loading as you scroll have no fixed end, so the 30-screen limit applies.
